A trusted partner to read the terrain

My calling is to help leaders and organizations do their best work.

I lead from experience and love. That means honesty, vulnerability, high standards, and a belief in everyone's potential.

I'm an endurance athlete and ultramarathoner. Training and racing teach me that leadership is reading the terrain and adjusting. Results come from consistent effort paired with compassion.

I lead the same way I train: reading behavioral and environmental signals, adjusting and recalibrating. Read more about that on my “Duck Cookies” essay and “Know Where You Stand” essay here.

Betsy was one of the people I relied on most at HealthRhythms. She could listen through the most meandering conversations and surface the one or two things that actually needed attention, and she always did it in a way that felt respectful and steady. Betsy earned trust everywhere — not by trying to impress anyone, but by showing up consistently, listening deeply, and saying what needed to be said, even when it wasn’t the easiest thing to hear. I also greatly appreciated how open she was to new ideas and how naturally she brought people together during difficult or ambiguous moments. Her judgment, calm presence, and ability to align very different personalities made a real difference in how we worked. Betsy was a true partner in every sense.
